Private Well Water Testing
NJ Private Well Testing Act
New Jersey’s comprehensive Private Well Testing Act requires sampling of private drinking water wells for contamination whenever a property is sold. Before closings, both buyer and seller must certify, in writing, that the tests were performed and that the results were shared with the parties. People will receive their well test results on a standardized form, which will also provide them information about options for correcting a well-contamination problem. A laboratory certified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in drinking water methods must perform the tests.
New Jersey Private Well Testing Act as set forth by N.J.S.A. 58:12A-26 et seq., was signed into law in March of 2001 and became effective in September 2002. We can arrange for NJ certified water testing if desired.
